A DANCE OF LIGHT AND CHROMATIC DISTORTION

Before us unfolds a series that, through the alchemy of light and shadow, immerses us in an abyss of saturated colors and distorted shapes. This collection, more than a mere set of images, is an act of defiance against the linearity of perception, a testimony of reality altered by the artist’s prism.

Each work, imbued with an almost dreamlike intensity, is a bold exploration of the chromatic spectrum, where vibrant tones and playful light become the undisputed protagonists. The frames presented here are not content with capturing reality; they break it down, reinvent it, saturate it until it becomes something new, in a pictorial territory that borders on the psychedelic, reminding us of the brave color distortion of a James Turrell mixed with the dynamism of an Ernst Haas.

The technical mastery on display is manifest in the expert manipulation of grain and texture, evidencing a preference for the tactile over the transient, an almost sculptural quality in the treatment of subjects and their surroundings. Like Abstract Expressionists such as Kandinsky and his passionate relationship with color, these images exude a feeling that lifts off the canvas to explode before the viewer’s eyes.

The composition of each shot is deliberately chaotic, a dance of elements that intertwine in a choreography of light and darkness. The frame is broken down, rebelling against formality, allowing the spontaneity of the moment to dictate the final form of the work. In this act, the artist becomes a master of ceremonies of a carnival of shadows, where each silhouette, each reflection, is an invitation to delve deeper into the psyche of what is being observed.

At its core, it is a hymn to the subjectivity of sensory experience, a call to question the fidelity of the reality that surrounds us and our own connection to it. It is a tribute to the ability of the work of art to transcend its own nature as a mere record of reality, transforming itself into a vehicle of personal and collective expression, a medium through which the everyday becomes exceptional and the ordinary becomes sublime.

The collection stands as a visual poem to interpreted existence, a labyrinth of reflections and shadows where each step takes us further away from reality and brings us closer to the truth that underlies the artist’s perception, a truth that, although elusive, manifests itself in the color, shape and light of each work.
